Our Classical Conversations that occur Thursdays at 6:30 p.m. before each concert are being MOVED from the Silver Center’s Recital Hall to the Hanaway Theatre. This popular lecture and discussion series led by Festival violinist John Fetter with Music Director Paul Polivnick and special guest presenters, has become so popular that attendance has outgrown the number of seats available in the Smith Recital Hall.
Doors will open to the Hanaway Theatre at 6:20 p.m. where ushers will encourage you to sit up front near our wonderful guest speakers. You do not have to take your assigned seat for the lecture but please be sure to move to that seat prior to concert start. You are welcome to take house-purchased beverages into the Hall with you too!
Your tickets for the concert will be scanned when you enter the lecture. When the lecture concludes at 7:00 p.m., please return to the lobby, if you wish, for refreshments or a quick break before the concert begins at 7:30 p.m.. You need only show your previously-scanned ticket to quickly get back to your assigned seats for the concert.
We hope that this new move goes effortlessly and that you enjoy the added benefit of seeing musicians quietly shuffle on and off stage placing instruments like harps, tubas, French horns, etc! There is a lot of work that goes on behind the scenes before we can present our performances for you! So enjoy the lecture and a glimpse behind the scenes as you are an important part of the New Hampshire Music Festival in residence at Plymouth State!
