Tomorrow's players and audiences
Beyond
our summer Festival programming, the NHMF presents music education
and enrichment programming directly to New Hampshire's school children
throughout the academic year. These programs feature artist educators
of the same world-class caliber as the musicians that make up the
Festival Orchestra. over the last 20 years, NHMF's music education and
enrichment programming has reached more than 50,000 students.

Music in Our Schools
In
1992, Bank of America became the primary sponsor of the Music in Our
Schools program. This series brings a variety of hand-selected
performing ensembles to elementary schools throughout the state,
presenting the vast diversity of musical expression, and giving young
children a hands-on experience with professional performers in an
intimate and engaging setting. In 2011, thirty concerts were performed
for public elementary school children in grades K-5 in fifteen
communities, including Concord, Dover, Keene, Manchester, Nashua,
Portsmouth and Salem.

Visiting Artist Program
In 1994, NHMF began working with the Laconia public schools to develop a program aimed at fostering musical appreciation of and participation. The NHMF Visiting Artist Program brings
brilliant young musicians to Lakes Region public schools. During each
residency week, teaching artists present lectures, demonstrations and
master classes, performing and interacting with students in classrooms
and large group settings. Each artist then performs a free community
concert. In 2011, these concerts welcomed more than 600 adults and
children.
